Apps Mentioned at the TMEA Session

Here are some screen shots of some of the apps that were mentioned at the TMEA 2012 Session.  I'll be adding more that I find useful.  If you have any you'd like to share, please send them to me or post a comment! 

I use this drawing app like a "virtual chalkboard" in my classroom.  You can use your finger or a stylus to draw on the screen. 

I haven't had a chance to use this white board app yet, but I like the way it looks. 

 This app is just cool!

 This is the JoyTunes Recorder app that several folks mentioned Saturday morning.  They were right - it is excellent.

 The next two screen shots are of the Music Binder app I showed you.  The first one shows lyric/chord sheet formats.

 This shot shows full notation and some of the other features



















 Music for Little Mozarts is a great introduction to notation and beginning ear training program - especially for younger students.

 Naxos created this great introduction to classical music for kids.  (it's fun for us grown-up kids too)

Perfect Reader is the pdf reader I've been using lately.  It has lots of features and does a good job of organizing files.  There is a free version that is fully functional, but limits the number of files that are visible at any given time.

 Sheet Music Direct - Hal Leonard's app to allow direct purchase and digital download of music.

 This whiteboard has lots of neat features including some that will allow groups with multiple iPads to share and collaborate in real-time.

 I really like this app when I want to make notations on PDF documents. 

 This is the browser I mentioned that will allow you to play flash video.  Not the greatest browser for general purposes, but if you need to view flash it's the best solution I've found.

 This is the music notation app we briefly looked at during the conference.  It's as close to a real notation program as I have found.

I don't think I mentioned this one, but my students love Pluto Learns Piano.  Fun game to melody and note recognition.

Thanks to everyone who got up early and joined me for my session at TMEA yesterday! Being able to share with so many enthusiastic fellow music educators was the highlight of what had already been an amazing conference for me!
